A Symposium on Varied Cultures in Higher Education Institutions was organized at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya(University) in which all the Vice Chancellors & Principals of all the Higher Education Institutions of the entire Uttarakhand State were invited at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar. The symposium was inaugurated with a traditional ceremony of lighting the lamp by the Minister of Higher Education of Uttarakhand State, Mr. Dhansingh Rawat and the Pro Vice Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Dr Chinmay Pandya.
The sole purpose as shared by the Minister Dr. Rawat was to orient the heads of the HEIs with the impact of the ambiance of the Institutions on the quality of education. The program was very observatory wherein all the participants were not only introduced to the unique features of DSVV but also had a campus tour visiting various salient features, working models and laboratories of the campus. Dr. Rawat also shared that on the basis of this visit, a refined future planning and preparation of proper, essential education policy in the state will be executed. Along with this motto the key subject of the discussion were positivity at work place, values in education, discipline in students and taking initiatives for the good governance of the colleges and Universities.

In the first session all the participants from the different HEIs of Uttarakhand were welcomed followed by a brief presentation introducing Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya was given. In the introduction of the DSVV, the motto of its establishment, vision, mission and the unique model of education propagated by a very recent thinker Pt. Shriram Sharma Ji syncing the two pillars of 'Shiksha'(education) and 'Vidhya'(Wisdom) were explained to dignitaries. Along with this the details of the unique curriculums and their features were also shared.  

The inaugural session of the symposium began with a traditional ceremony of Lighting the Lamp and welcome with Tilak to Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Dr. Chinmay Pandya followed by offering reverence to the Patron Founder of DSVV, Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya and Bhagwati Devi Sharma. On arrival at the dias, the University Anthem Kulgeet of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya was played which was followed by the keynote address by Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Dr. Chinmay Pandya.
Addressing the dignitaries Dr. Chinmay Pandya said "In order to overcome the educational discrepancies in the present world, it is necessary to get acquainted with the values of education (Vidya) along with the educational curriculum (Shiksha), which can elevate the society and the nation."  He also added  that "The task of educational institutions is to refine  the personality of students and uplift the culture. Today people are busy in acquiring wealth, but hardly pay any attention to the quality of life. Many programs of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidhyalaya have been adopted by academic institutions from many countries, including Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and there are significant changes in the perspectives of their lives in the students there. Educational institutions should encourage the youth to move forward in this direction. Towards the end he added that “the whole symposium is aligned with the objectives of UNESCO on a wider perspective.”

After the address of Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the minister Mr. Dhansingh Rawat addressed to the gathering. In his address the minister said "There is a need to create a new parameter for good education, which can be adopted by all classes of students in the same way."  The minister presented DSVV as a model that can be replicated at different HEIs in various facets. He added that "DSVV is a model institution which is established for the Cultural Renaissance through Education working on the parameters of 'Shiksha and Vidya' given by Pujya Gurudev Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya and Vandniyana Mataji, it is an exemplary model for all educational institutions as it very well blends the ideas of culture with education. This culture-based model of this Vishwavidyalaya is the pride of Uttarakhand." He also expressed his delight for Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya to be chosen by the University of Opole, Poland as its co-partner for the UNESCO Chair.
After the key note address of Hon. Minister Sir, the Director of Higher Education Dr. Savita Mohan, shared her views saying that "Uttrakhand state has offered several talented and illumined students who have achieved success in all dimensions not only in India but abroad as well. She said that with resolution, we should take every possible way to develop the students of their respective institutions". After a very detailed and interactive conversations, Honorable Minister was felicitated by a memento and the literature composed by the Patron Founder Pt Shriram Sharma Acharya. Subsequently, Shri Sandeep Kumar, the Registrar of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, expressed gratitude to all and all the participants joined Hon. Minister for the lunch that was hosted by DSVV.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Ranveer Singh, Vice Chancellor of Kumaun Vishwavidyalaya, Dr. HS Dhami, Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya Prof. P.K. Dixit, several VCs, senior officials of the Directorate of Education, PG College, were present. The program was anchored by Dr. Gopal Krishna Sharma.
